Andy Murray claimed back to back 2nd clay court title for this year by beating the ‘Clay court King' Rafael Nadal who was the last time champion here at the Madrid Open on Sunday. Andy Murray stunned Rafael Nadal in the dominating game where he won 6-3, 6-2.

Nadal, who previously defeated Murray 6 times in clay court, lost the battle in clay court for the first time. Murray also got the taste of first title in clay court in just few days back in Munich Open where he beat Philipp Kohlschreiber in the final match by 7-6 (7-4), 5-7, 7-6 (7-4) .

This defeat kept nine-time French Open champion Nadal outside of the top five tennis players. He is in the 7th position now.

After winning the title Andy Murray commented

“To play Rafa in Spain is extremely tough, but this is the reason why we play tennis for these matches, it is one of the toughest things in tennis to try and win against Rafa on clay, I will keep trying to play well in the next few weeks with Roland Garros just round the corner.”

Serena Williams advanced to 3rd round of Madrid Open

World number one Serena Williams continued her glorious season with back to back unbeaten in 22 matches. This time she thrashed a win against Sloane Stephens by 6-4, 6-0 to be promoted into the third round of the Madrid Open on Monday. Serena, who is unbeaten in this tournament since 2010, didn't give any chance to her fellow American opponent in the match and made it totally one sided.

In the third round of the tournament Serena will face the winner of the match between Victoria Azarenka and Ajla Tomljanovic on Wednesday.

The 19-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams was little bit diplomatic after the match and commented

“She's such a tough player. I've never won a 6-0 set against her before, and I don't think I can ever do that again,”

“Today I thought to myself, ‘Wow, this is one of the reasons I love this surface.' It just gives you so many chances to get in the point and play yourself into the match. I really love playing on the clay.”

On the other side Caroline Wozniacki was able to reach to the third round and will meet gnieszka Radwanska there. Caroline has defeated Christina McHale 7-5, 6-0.

Megh Patel has won boys' under-16 category in AITA National Series tennis tournament which was held at Ahmedabad City Tennis Foundation courts. First in the single tournament Megh Patel thrashed 6-3, 6-1 win against Maharashtra's Siddhanth Banthia to win boy's single crown, then in doubles tournament also Megh Patel and Chandigarh's Sagar Bains pair defeated Maharashtra's Siddhanth Banthia and Karnataka's Adil Kalyampur by 6-2, 4-6, 10-7 to win the doubles title.
In other category of the tournament Delhi's Vipul Mehta won boys' under-14 singles crown by 6-1, 4-6, 7-5 against Dev Javia. While Dev Javia and Telengana's Rithvik Choudhary defeated Gujarat's Aaryan Zaveri and Mann Shah by 6-0, 4-6, 10-8 to get the doubles title.

In the girl's under-16 singles final Delhi's Sabhyata Nihlani defeated Vaidehi Chaudhary by 7-5, 6-3 to win the title. While in girl's under-16 doubles Vaidehi Chaudhary and Maharashtra's Shivani thrashed a 6-4, 6-2 win against Gujarat's Akanksha Bhan and Sabhyata to win the crown.

2018 FIFA Asian World Cup Qualifiers draw announced

The 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier Round 2 draw has been announced for the AFC nations in Kuala Lumpur. India is in Group D with Iran and Oman.

40 participating Asian teams will participate in these qualifier matches from June 2015 to March 2016.

These teams are divided into the eight groups and each group has five nations.

The eight group winners and the four best second-placed teams will be play in Asia's final FIFA World Cup qualifying round. These teams will also qualify directly for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.
