Wawrinka is no. 4 in ATP world rankings, Nadal slipped to no. 10

French Open champion of 2015 Stan Wawrinka has got his “rank award” for his dream form in French Open. He has moved up five places in the official ATP world rankings. He is now in number four in ranking released on Monday.

The final match against world number one Novak Djokovic was a dream match for Wawrinka which he described as “the match of my life”.

But previous world number one and master in clay court Spain's Rafael Nadal who has faced a defeat in quarter-final of the tournament against Novak Djokovic, slipped to number 10 in ATP world rankings which his lowest in last 10 years.

Serena Williams defeated Timea Bacsinszky to reach French Open final

19 times Grand Slam champion Serena Williams reached to the French Open Final by defeating Timea Bacsinszky, but she had to fight not only against Bacsinszky but also with the over heat in the court and also with her illness. Due to illness and tiredness Serena lost the first set to Bacsinszky by 4-6.

When crowd was waiting for another unexpected result the world number one and Paris champion in 2002 and 2013 fought back like a champion and thrashed a 6-3, 6-0 win in second and third set. It was her 10 semi-final win in a row which she finally won by 4-6, 6-3, 6-0.

In the 29 degree heat , Williams demanded more and more ice-towels during changeovers and Williams's coughing spurts became so loud that they echoed around the arena courtesy of the courtside microphones.

“I kept trying to find the energy and keep fighting. I wasn't feeling well,” said Williams
Serena Williams now will face Czech 13th seed Lucie Safarova, who defeated former French Open champion Ana Ivanovic by 7-5, 7-5 in French Open champion on Saturday.
Williams's record against Safarova is 8-0.

Lucie Safarova reached to French Open final for the first time

Another stunning performance by Lucie Safarova who reached her first Grand Slam final by defeating former champion Ana Ivanovic in a one almost one sided French Open Semi-finals.

Safarova, who never reached to quarter final before this year, won the semi-final match by 7-5, 7-5.

Ivanovic was the champion at Roland Garros as a 20-year-old in 2008 but she struggled a lot to reach to the semis.

On the other side Safarova had not dropped a set in the tournament, winning five straight tie-breaks, one of those coming in the first set against defending champion Maria Sharapova.

Safarova became the first Czech woman to reach the French Open final after Hana Mandlikova won the title in 1981.

“It's a dream come true. I still cannot believe it,” she said “I started too slowly, but I tried to pick up my level and started to play really aggressively because that was the only way to get the win.”

Lucie Safarova will now face top seeded and the 19-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams in the French Open Final. Williams's record against Safarova is 8-0.

Zico may try for the Fifa’s presidential election

Brazil football legend Zico may try for the Fifa's presidential election. There will be a election going to be held because of resignation of Sepp Blatter.
Zico wrote on his social networking page, “I was the minister of sports, I have experience with my club and supporting Kashima, Japan. I think about football above politics,”

As per Zico, he got that plan when he was having dinner with his wife in Germany and heard about resignation of Sepp Blatter
Zico said
“My wife and children support me. I have no (outside) support yet, but if it's open I can apply to Fifa. It is an idea… who knows,”

Zico coached FC Goa, the Goan franchise in the Indian Super League (ISL) in the first ISL 2014
FC Goa co-owner Shrinivas Dempo commented
“Zico will be here in the last week of June. He will have a look at the players, discuss t the requirements and, if needed, will also attend the player auction as and when it's held in Mumbai,”
He has previously coached Brazil and Japan national team.

World number one Saina Nehwal advanced to the second round of the Indonesian Open Super Series badminton tournament by beating Thai Nichaon Jindapon in straight games.

Second seed Saina won the match by 21-16, 21-18 in 35 minutes.
But in another match PV Sindhu lost against Chinese Taipei's Ya Ching Hsu in the the first round.

If Sindhu could won it, second round would be Saina vs Sindhu.

Sindhu lost the match by 21-16, 15-21, 14-21 in 49 minutes.

Saina will now face Ching Hsu in second round to get a place in the women's singles quarterfinals.

On the other side in the men's singles World number 14 Parupalli Kashyap won first round match against Thailand's Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk with 21-17, 21-7 in just 29 minutes.

Now Kashyap will face fifth seed Korean Wan Ho Son in the second round.

Kidambi Srikanth will face Danish Hans-Kristian Vittin and in the women's doubles the Indian pair of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa will face Taipei's team of Ya Ching Hsu and Yu Po Pai.

World number 1 Serena Williams thrashed a win against Italian Sara Errani by 6-1, 6-3 to reach the semifinals of the French Open on Wednesday.

It was totally an one sided game and Serena hammered 39 winners in the match against Errani who is a French Open runner-up in 2012.

First round was like a only Serena was playing but the second round Errani fought back little bit and was looked quicker than the first round and that was really not enough in front of Serena.

Serena will now face quarter final winner of Swiss 23rd seed Timea Bacsinszky and Belgian Alison van Uytvanck.

Timea Bacsinszky reached to the semi-finals of French Open 2015 by defeating Belgian Alison van Uytvanck 6-4, 7-5.

Match was almost a one sided specially the first set where Bacsinszky raced to 3-0 and won it by 6-4, in the second set world no 93 Uytvanck tried to come back and from 3-1 she overcame to 3-3 in the second set but could only manage 5 points while Bacsinszky won the set by 7-5.

Now she will face world no 1 Serena Williams in semi-finals.

23rd seeded Bacsinszky now became the first Swiss woman after Martina Hingis in 2001 to reach the last four in French Open.

Tsonga won French Open quarter final against Kei Nishikori

That was an end of journey for Kei Nishikori in this French Open Men's Singles, in a long game of five sets against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Local hero Jo-Wilfried Tsonga reached to semi-finals by winning the hard quarter final match with 6-1, 6-4, 4-6, 3-6, 6-3.

In the first half Tsonga was totally dominating the game and won first two sets by 6-1, 6-4. After that a small and unusual accident happened when side panel from the scoreboard fell on the crowd from the upper part of Court Philippe Chatrier, injuring three fans, which caused 40 minutes of game interrupt and when players returned to the court, Tsonga lost his concentration as well as momentum.

In third and fourth sets Kei Nishikori made a great fight back by winning the sets 6-4, 6-3. So last and final set became the decisive one which won by Tsonga to reach to the semi-finals.
