Full of suspense and thrill was expected from the eliminator match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals. But RCB made it totally one sided and defeated Rajasthan by 71 runs.
RCB won the toss and elected to bat first. Chris Gayle and captain Virat Kohli started well but could not sustain the momentum and Gayle lost his wicket after making 27 runs when his team was at 41 runs. Kohli also got out just after 5 runs. At that time Rajasthan was slowly taking the charge of the match but AB de Villiers and Mandeep Singh kept their wickets and built up a solid partnership of 113 runs. When De Villiers (66 runs from 38 balls) got out RCB was at 159 runs. Mandeep continued and pushed the team’s total to 180 runs with loss of 4 wickets. He was not out at 54 runs from 34 balls.
In reply Rajasthan batsmen just could not stand in front of RCB bowling line-up. Only Ajinkya Rahane made 42 runs, nobody else could cross even 15 runs and RR got all out in just 109 runs in 19 overs. All the bowlers from RCB side bowled excellently.
